What is the normal price of these hoodies? I'm not convinced its a deal

Uni hoodies generally go for ~$80 RRP or so, depending on the quality and style. On sale the UNSW ones were going for $50 at point. But $30 for a hoodie (even if fleecy line) is not a bad deal imo.

      • Unsw is also selling the "final edition" hoodies at the moment? But at $50, not an attractive deal.

    • Innocent until proven guilty.

  • RRP: $59.95

    • Last year they had a voucher for hoodies on the dailydeals site during oweek, and in the student diary I think it was half off, or maybe $35?

So even if you go to MQ you could wait, and get one with the new (IMO, nicer) logo for a similar price?

Plus by then they will get desperate to get rid of old stock and these will be even cheaper.

i've always found university/school pride a curious thing…i wouldn't wear clothing branded with the uni i went to. not because it's a bad uni - the opposite: i would feel like a tosser who thinks going to a certain uni makes me better than anyone else, or a part of some grand tradition or elite club…

maybe if i had gone on exchange to some fancy overseas uni like harvard or oxford, where that elitism might be somewhat valid…but even then i would feel like a tosser wearing my harvard/oxford jumper around!

but hey, to each their own. my sister always wears her uni hoodie, and one of my mates has a uni ring for our (australian) uni (barf!!!).

having said that, university hoodies are generally pretty decent quality, so $30 is probably a good deal if it is your thing.

      100% totally agree.

In fact, I don't get the whole "wear promo gear" thing at all… f the Uni wants me to promote it, then THEY need to PAY ME.

always been refered to as Club Mac

but still, being one of the big 4 in syd. is something… not quite sure what, but something

        • @tonyjzx: club mac… Sounds like a new burger

    • if you love ur uni its fine

        Only if its your uni.

    • I assume you didn't get high enough grade's to get accepted.

  • Cool, just what I've always wanted…!

how much money do you have?

  • 'These styles are never to be produced again.'

can i get that in writing witnessed by a JP?

    • MQU and 1964 branded hoodies are never going to be produced again due to change in University logo. This is why these styles are getting cleared from the shop.

Wearing a Macquarie Uni hoodie around is kind of like having a third place trophy displayed on your mantlepiece.

'Hey, I tried… but not all that hard'

  • Is it very warm?

    • It is warm. But depends how warm you are referring to. However if you want to compare it with any Kathmandu branded hoodie then it could fall into their Altica 200 fleece hoodie category. (hope this helps)

Why would you want to advertise going to a third rate university? Wouldn't your subway uniform already do that for you?
