    http://bargainbloke.com/2015/01/19/episode-11-store-cards-th…

In today’s episode we talk about Store Cards, You know the cards they try and sign you up for in conjunction with that flashy brightly coloured 50 months no interest deal with the asterisks and fine print that you need a magnifying glass to read.

These cards open up a whole new set of possibilities, opportunities and risks to the shopper. It might allow you to get that replacement fridge when yours carks at exactly the wrong time, or that large TV that you bought on impluse and are now caught in an interest spiral because you didn’t know how these cards work.

Pauline and i take you through some of the pitfalls to watch out for when it comes to these cards, as well as the opportunities they can provide if used correctly and try to dispel some myths around these widely know, but little understood card.

  • Episode 13 – What is the Debt Snowball and how can you use it to get out of debt!

    http://bargainbloke.com/2015/01/22/episode-13-what-is-the-de…

In today’s episode we are going to talk about the Debt snowball Concept. Pauline and I have been trying this method for several months now for us it has been an effective means of debt reduction. We are going to talk about our personal experience with the Debt Snowball Plan and what we liked and didn’t like about it

For those who don’t know what the Debt Snowball is. I believe the concept that was coined by Dave Ramsey but we personally found out about it from Jack spriko over at the Survival Podcast. It is a method of debt reduction that plays on human psychology. While admitted it’s not the most cost effective method and it has its negative. It might just be the debt reduction plan for you. Once you have initially set up the plan, it is surprising easy to integrate into your finances.

So if you are finding you just can’t seem to get a handle on those debts, the debt snowball could just be the tipping point you are looking for

We would really love to do a listen feedback or call show one day, so if you have any questions that may help other people, email them or comment them and when we get enough we will do a show on them.

I would also like to note that I (Jimmy) go on a bit of a rant at the end of this show in regards to superannuation. Just a heads up

  • Ep 14 – Saving Money On Your Fruit And Vegetable Shop

    http://bargainbloke.com/2015/02/01/ep-14-saving-money-on-you…

While perusing the Oz bargain forums, Pauline and I came across and interesting topic which you can find here on finding cheap fruit and vegetables. So in today’s episodes we are going to expand on the thread.

In today’s episode we talk about why we feel that one of the best ways to save money on your Fruit and Vegetable shop is buying in bulk, shopping for local food grown locally and most importantly learning how to minimise your food waste and maximising the Fruit and Veg you buy.

Supporting your primary producers is something im passionate about and if you can buy a better quality product for cheaper at a farmers farmer why wouldn’t you, I can you tell you convenience has a lot to do with it and we are hoping we can change people’s mentality towards shopping for your Fruit and Veg at one of the Big Two.
