Credit Card Limit Increases - Are these recorded on your credit history?

I have an existing credit card with NAB. Let's say for $10,000.

They've offered me a pre-approved guaranteed increase to $15,000.
Does anyone know, if I accept this, does this go onto my credit history?

There isn't a credit check, there's just a declaration that you can meet the higher minimum repayments of $x, plus you don't see a change in your circumstances.

In my experience, no it doesn't. Only if you request an increase

  • I was approved an increase over the phone on my 28Degrees card, double my limit. Highly doubt it goes into your credit history if you are already a customer with that bank.

Can't say for NAB, but with Amex and Bankwest, no credit history recorded when applying with the invitation.

  • Not really the same situation but I asked Citibank for a credit limit increase, and they said if I applied for it, it Would affect my credit score. I didn't end up going through with it.

  • Thanks guys. Will accept it :)
