Where to Buy Cheap Car Battery in Sydney ?

I need a new battery for my Toyota Yaris. Are the store branded car batteries in Repco, Supercheap and Autobarn the cheapest battery I can get ? Can you recommend good price/quality battery brands please. Thanks everyone.

  • Ask your local wreckers, but check the date code stamped/ melted in to the plastic on top. First 2 characters of stamp reveals manufacture date.
A=Jan, B=Feb . Then a single number for the year, ie 3 = 2013 (assuming any 2003 batteries are long dead). If u can use a multimeter, even better. Check for at least 12.5v.
I bought a battery from my wrecker for $15 that was a year newer than one on sale at Repco for $200 (check date code on 'sale' batteries). If u must get new, I've found Sprint here to be the best value. Just about any battery will be fine in a Yaris. U might find a mainstream Commodore etc battery is cheaper. Just make sure it fits width & height wise, plus Make sure your negative & positive terminals are on the correct side for your car. Lastly, does it have around 500 CCA (cold cranking amps- starting power). Would be enough for a V6, so more than enough for a yaris engine.

  • costco! bought bosch for $120 while dealer on distributor list charge $160+

just need to make sure you have the correct battery because the list they have is not accurate.
