Im currently using my iPad 2 mirroring of to my soniq 42 tv that was purchased from Jbhifi about a year ago, The video resolution on my iPad is 720p and its streaming of a website similar to netflicks. I have tried running through the options from my soniq remote from full screen, pan scan, what ever that means and also the last 2. Non of them are close to being full screen As they only take up 60% of my tv. And 4 corners are black like a frame.
Does anyone know how to stretch it to full size? I beleive it's just the tv and maybe samsungs can do this.

Try changing the setting on your apple tv to full screen on 720p. I suspect it is on 1080p right now, hence the smaller picture.
Well if you're mirroring it's going to mirror the ipads resolution, eg if you had a device like chromecast and sent the ipads video signal to the device through a dedicated app it would perform at full resolution
