What's the best way to travel from Australia to Europe? Any tips?

I believe there are lots of you that travels to Europe nowadays.
I always thought that flight from Australia to south-east Asia (kuala lumpur or Singapore for example) and than fly to Europe would be cheaper than buy a return ticket directly from Australia.
However, I'm looking now and it doesn't appear to be much cheaper anymore.

Do you experience the same? What are your tips to find cheap international flights?

No caps in the title please, also it doesnt make sense

  • Those were the silly old days. Now airlines market each leg as much as necessary to put bums on the seats and combinations cost the sum of the legs. Now and then you may find a bargain on one leg but not others.

    • Have to Agree with this, I've traveled 1 way for the past 7 years aroudn the world because I never know when I'm returning.. and every time it has worked out more expensive to do it this way.

I'll give you a quick example.
Right now Aus to Finland is 1200 one way or 1700 return.

The Problem for me is with out a return date, how do I know which date to choose?
On top of that you seemed to get slugged with fees and fare differences to change dates :(

I think you need to spend more time here perfecting your English, because what you have written does not make sense.

It's a bit of a puzzle, but the commenters right above seem to have understood anyway. :)

  • Fly - Verb
    Flight - Noun

I guess I'll have a crack at actually answering OP's question:
I want that flight seem to be alright. I only heard about them through OzB actually haha.
    Skyscanner is also pretty good.
They are both airline aggregators so they search through various airline websites and post the lowest prices. One way flights are always more than 50% of a return flight.

  • Thanks guys for the answers.
I used to fly from Europe to South-East Asia for then take a flight to Au. However, It feels like It doesn't work out much cheaper anymore. It might also be because I have specific dates to travel.

We'll see what I can find.
