JB Hi-Fi Returns Policy

Hello guys - no hate please, genuine question.

I bought a 2DS last year (December 2014) and I have yet to use it. I initially bought it because I had a $75 voucher from purchasing a Mac (it was a 50% off thing). Unfortunately, I have found that I have very little time to use it (starting uni this year).

I am wondering whether any of you guys have experience dealing with JB's return policy - especially when it's just a change of mind thing. Also, my situation is unique in that I used a voucher ($75 off $150 that expired within 4 weeks of me buying the Mac). Will JB generally accept my change of mind thing considering it will be 2 1/2 months since I bought the DS when I return it (will only be back in Melbourne end of Feb) but I have not touched the DS at all. Will they likely accept me wanting to exchange my DS for something like store credit instead? JBHifi website says change of mind is generally accepted within 3 months but not sure if that is true anecdotally…

Cheers - sorry for being verbose - any response greatly appreciated :)

    So it's unopened?

They don't have to exchange it but they might as a gesture of goodwill.

Yeah if it's unopened they should be able to give you store credit

I've returned change of mind to JB before and they were fine to refund me, but it was a manager who had to make the call and it was probably less than a week since I bought it (bought as a gift for someone only to find out they just got it for themselves). Just go in and be extra nice and you'll probably get a store credit.

It'll be interesting to see whether they realise that the voucher expiry has lapsed, because if you get store credit you've essentially had your voucher extended…

Judging by many previous posts here, JB's return policy is a little hi & miss, depends on the staff/manager/busy or not…

My husband bought a pair of headphones from JB ($150-ish) and didn't like them. He took them back to JB and said the headphones 'don't sit well on his head'. (lame excuse I thought) JB gave him refund straight away, no drama.

Also, given you paid by voucher, that might be a little tricky. They might give you another voucher? Just go and ask…try different JBs…you never know, nothing to lose. Good luck.
