uberX is illegal. uberBLACK uses a contracted company that has licenced cars and drivers.

Uber is legal as long as you have a commercial driving license such as taxi and hire car peoples.
A taxi/hire car license is very expensive.
Uber advertise ordinary people can make money using their own cars but they will be fined something like $2000 or more depending on the officer who booked the ride!
I think Uber pays these fines for them.
Uber is not telling the truth to the guy in the street who thinks he can make some bucks using his car.

There are other companies talking the same thing but if you take up with them, you could also get fined.
Taxi drivers and hire car people have to be trained for all situations.
I am a valet driver for a private car park and was thinking about some extra work but not after researching all this.
I would be risking a lot taking on the jobs.

no wonder cabcharges profits have dropped, because free taxi rides thanks to uberAlthough you pay nothing as part of the promotion, the taxi driver or UberX driver still gets paid. You also would have to use multiple mobile phones to re-register; how do you manage that?
