Boost Exact Same Coverage as Telstra ?

Hi.

I understand that Boost is a wholesaler of Telstra's 3G network. I live in rural SE QLD where the only decent solid signal is Telstra - I get 4G in town but out on properties and travelling it is just 3G but has a good range of coverage, thus I just turn 4G off on my iPhone.
I want to know do wholesalers get the exact same bandwidth for data and the exact same coverage as I would already on Telstra ? I didn't know if they would have separate dedicated cells to handle their wholesale network ? or if it is completely the same.

I would like to change to Boost to save $$ from my Telstra plan that expires soon and just wanted to see if there are any catches I need to be made aware of.

Thanks in advance.

  • Yep. Same coverages, just no 4g

    • Even Next G? What about the other wholesalers like Lyca and Aldi, thhey cover regional Next G as well?

      • No, Boost is the only reseller with access to the full Next G Network.
The other Telstra Wholesale resellers only have access to the parts of the Telstra 3G network that roughly aligns to coverage provided by Optus/Vodafone.

  • +1

You should do some research. The answer is easily available.

Yes Boost has the same coverage as Telstra's "Next G" network. It runs on the same 3G network.
No Boost does not allow 4G.
No other wholesalers do not have access to Telstra's entire 3G network - Only Boost does. The other wholesalers only get access to a limited part of the network.

  • Go for boost mate you will never look back i cant say how good wholesale would be where you are.

maybe buy a lyca sim and put it in your mobile when your other there and see what you get.
as its whole sale its hard to say if you will get reception or not as there not on the full next g
