Ticket to Ride Board Game

I am looking to buy the board game Ticket to Ride (the original USA set)

Cheapest I can find is book depository
http://m.bookdepository.com/Ticket-Ride-Various/978097527732…
$55.90 with free shipping (plus a 5% cash back from cash rewards - for new member account on book depository)
So $53.10

Amazon has it for US$37 and it says it will ship to Australia. But when I add it to my cart to checkout it refuses to leave it in the cart. Postage will probably make it more expensive but I could always find more thigs to buy to negate the postage a bit.

If anyone has any codes for book depository or ideas of where to get this game cheaper please let me know.
Would also be interested in the expansion pack - USA 1910 if anyone sees a cheap price for that while looking. eBay has it around $32.

Thanks for your help

  • I see you're in Melb; otherwise would be happy to sell you my TTR USA as we've outgrown it!

We bought it ours from Games Paradise I think. http://www.gamesparadise.com.au/ticket-to-ride I don't remember it being $72 though! Was more like $60.

    • Did you move on to Europe instead or you just stopped playing it altogether?
It's hard to even find a 2nd hand set. None going on gumtree or eBay.

    • Hi Kati,

Was wondering if your ticket ride boardgame still up for sale??

  • We moved on to Europe, and Nordic Countries. Don't play Ticket to Ride much anymore but I hadn't thought of the expansion pack (1910) I guess. Also generally playing other board games more at the moment eg. Dominion, Ascension, 7 Wonders, Eclipse, etc.

Good casual game, but so expensive in shops!
For Amazon, check the seller is Amazon themselves, sometimes they direct you to another vendor with a cheaper price who doesn't ship internationally.
BTW - I think the $53.10 price will be hard to beat.

  • I had no luck finding a better price on the base game, but Milsims has the USA 1910 for $22.40 if you can pick up from Bentleigh (not sure what shipping would be otherwise)

    • The 1910 is an expansion, not the full game

    • That's a good price for the expansion
      Thanks

www.boardgamegeek.com has a market place which list sellers for this (and other boardgames). New and used games are listed.
The listings are in different currencies (depending on seller location) and you need to click on each listing to see which sellers post to Australia (and then contact the seller to find shipping costs). So it's not easy to determine if there are cheaper options than the one you have already found.

    • Thanks for that.
Didn't find any at the moment on there.
US postage is always painful and the only other Australian seller was someone selling at retail price (I have seen them selling on eBay too)

  • I bought a copy earlier this month from Book Depository for about $54, it was the cheapest I could find, that would ship to Australia. With the crappy exchange rate at the moment, the Amazon price would be about the same with shipping, even if they could ship to Australia.

  • I think $54 will be hard to beat. I think I picked up Europe for about that much on Amazon before the dollar had tanked.

  • That price is great considering it includes shipping. They have a pretty quick delivery - and the two games I bought from them were the cheapest I could find online so no reason to think that this game isn't either.

  • Anyone know where I can get Ticket to Ride? Need a change from Settlers of Catan.
