Westfield gift cards no longer working at NON Westfield Woolworths?

Hi guys,

I remember Westfield gift cards used to be able to be used at Woolworths machines without issue. I tried doing this last week but it was declined. Have they closed this loophole?

      PS Still could have asked at Woolies, they usually don't take you out the back and lock you in the freezer.

  Appears to depend on which Westfields you're at. Try looking at different Westfields on that list. I can see that Woolworths accept the cards in some malls, and not in other malls.

    The loophole I was referring to was that the card could be used at any woolies, not just the ones at Westfield centres. It also works at Aldi apparently, according to some other ozbargainers.

      Is it a loophole? How old is that list of retailers?

      Chatswood Woolies is listed there but isn't located at a Westfield. There was a Food4Less (Woolies group) at Westfield Chatswood but it closed down several years ago.

      On another topic, the Westfield gift card doesn't state it cannot be redeemed for gift cards, only cash. Or are gift cards considered cash?

  I thought the cards were branded Westfield but were actually eftpos saving cards? Otherwise they'd have to control the payment processing for all stores in the centres?

    I was not aware of this. I was using the gift card option on the self service machines. That could be the problem. I shall try with EFTPOS next time.

      You were using the e-Gift Card option, there is no Gift Card option.

      So, in the end - User Error.
