Powershop Guide Help

Hi,

I was wondering how many Victorians are with Powershop?

First time mover to a rented home, decided to connect with Powershop as my electrical supplier. As I am a student, I am determined to save as much as I can everywhere I can, so I don't mind the extra work with its manual system.

I have been reading over the internet, and there is a few I picked up (might be quite obvious):

  • Switch into Powersave via referral (Save $75)
  • Always buy the simple saver monthly
  • Buy future powerpacks in Summer when prices are off-peak (?)

Can anyone share some other tips regarding how one can maximize their savings through having Powershop as their provider?

  • I've been with Powershop for 4 months now. In that time, without changing my electricity habits, I've shaved $450 off my bills for the same period last year connected to Simply Energy.

One of the great things with powershop is seeing the breakdown of your usage by the month, week, day even hour. If you pay attention then you can cut your excess usage and it's one way to lower your costs.

"Power packs" come up at random times for a limited duration, grab them when you can. Instal the phone app and you'll get notified when the packs come up. Future packs are usually 2-5% cheaper than the basic rate, so grab them as well.

  • Online saver might be cheaper - check when you are purchasing online.
