Free Standing Dishwasher under $500

Hi, today our dishwasher which came with the house had a little electrical problem. Figure it is nearly 10 years old and worth getting a new one.

Would like silver/stainless, normal size and ideally a name brand one.

Have seem some decent ones under $400, that would be ideal.

Thanks, Sam.

  • Sam, Is it built in or free standing? The main problem I found was that my old F&P dishwasher is not near as deep as the current lot. This means it will stick out of alignment with the cupboards if I get a standard 600mm depth machine as most are. Have had to go with a Euro which a neighbour bought several months ago and seems happy with. It is about 570mm deep so will do the job. The width and height of every machine is very much within a couple of millimetres so suggest you check on the depth before you go too far. The Euros in Brisbane are $400 and $449 and nice looking machines. Avoid Bunnings and Masters el cheapos if possible.
    Good luck

  • I can slide it out from under re beach, so dare say it is free standing. It is a standard depth 610mm and width of 595mm.

  • Another option - I believe you can buy a benchtop dishwasher…. (not kidding)

Dishlex DSF6105 is in your price range and scored the highest on Choice independent dishwasher test.

Based on the results, my relative opted for the next one up DSF6205 and is very happy with it. DSF6205 was $487 on the good guys after dark sale - not sure how low the DSF6105 goes in price but could be had for under $400, probably.

Was at Good Guys and they had the dishlex, but wouldn't go below $585 as it is already "on special".

Ended up getting the Bosch for $600. Giving it the first go now, very quiet.

  • Thank you so much for the Choice recommendation :-) Might be hunting around for that today.

    • No worries. let me know how you go with the DSF6105 price-wise, appreciate any tip-off re: sales. I will probably get a DSF6205 if I can find it for sub $500 otherwise will opt for the DSF6105!!

  • Now I am leaning towards the basic Bosch models. $600 can get me the SMS40E08AU or the larger one for $50 more.
