Borderlands: The Handsome Collection PS4/Xbox One

Hey everyone,

I am really looking forward to the new borderlands game which is coming out next month. I'd like to preorder it and play it as soon as it comes out. If anyone knows where I could obtain it for the cheapest price that would be great. I have an Xbox One and the cheapest I have seen it advertised for is $68.99 at OzGameshop. If anyone can find it for a cheaper price please let me know, as I'm sure this is also in the interest of other people.

Thanks

  • "New Borderlands game". It's just a remake. My argument of "If all they want to ship is previous generation games, why didn't they just include backwards compatibility?" is relevant once again.

Retail, this will be likely close to $68-$78 at JB-HiFi, with more competitive prices closer to launch. Big W or Kmart/Target might throw in the usual snipe at a sneaky $10 discount one day before release. But this is speculation. Best to check around closer to release date.

  • No doubt they purposely did not include backwards compatibility ee to get more $$$

  • wow ozgameshop has increased all of their preorder price by $1.

  • +1

this sounds like bullshit to me

i played Borderlands 2 and the DLC up to Tiny Tina which i admit was a good ride

and i played Borderlands 1 just to see what was there 'before'

but why would you play the original one when the story is threadbare… sounds like a money grab

    • Remaking anything on next gen is a money grab, because it's too much of a risk to try and design a sequel or new IP. There's an article from head of Dead Rising 3 dev team complaining that Next Gen games cost 5 times more time and money to develop than a last gen game (which is still current gen, in my opinion).

This shits me off especially, because Gearbox CEO (I think, might've been Borderlands head dev) said at E3 last year "We will not be making Borderlands Pre-Sequel on Xbone and Ps4 because we sold more copies of BL2 than the amount of Xbones and PS4's sold combined." Now they're going back on that statement because pixel-chasers backlashed and didn't buy Pre-Sequel for their current gen consoles because they couldn't get it on their next gen Bluray players, out of both princible and spite. Which is probably deserved.

And, considering they have to up the graphics on Pre-sequel, they might as well copy-paste the textures and code over to Borderlands 2 and send 'em both to next gen. Because remaking games with shinier pixels is easy. Resident Evil, The Last Of Us, Halo Master Chief Collection, Tomb Raider, and every game and its dog are joining in on the remake moneywagon. (If all you were going to do is remake last gen games, why didn't you just make it backwards compatible?)

And yet we're still starved for new games on the consoles because small devs can't buy their way in unless they have the salary of a small European country to start their videogame company with 100+ capable staffmembers. It's turning the whole thing into a mess for the industry. At least Sony is trying to fix it with a focus on indie games on PSN.
