Any Recommandation for car mechanic in Melbourne

I have a land rover discovery that leaks oil, any recommendation for mechanic in melbourne?

  • Not specific to your car model but I used to use Cityside Auto Repairs in North Melbourne when I lived in Melbourne.

Small operation, run by a guy Paul who always seemed to have a smile on his face. Knew his stuff, told me what needed to be done (not much) and what could potentially be an issue but didn't need to be done yet (rare for mechanics). Accounts always seemed fair and I didn't get any bullshit which was refreshing.

  • What area are you in? I know a good place in Preston (Albert street). Similar to the joint Mags speaks of above by the sounds of it; refreshingly straight up service/advice, at a decent price.

    • Can you give me name of that place?

  • Yep, it's "Albert Street Automotive":

78 Albert Street, Preston VIC 3072
    (03) 9470 1052

  • If its a Tdi thats its natural state, only need to operate when oil consumption is greater than diesel :-)

In all honesty join AULRO (Aus Land Rover Owners) and follow the numerous DIY tutorials as its not that hard. And if for some reason it is, just ask someone and there are many veterans there that are always happy to help.

    Enjoy

PS dont say your not mechanical minded, its like when people say they cant cook or use a computer… all involve simple steps that are quite easy and readily available to anyone that is willing to have a go.

If its a matter of time then I can understand that. Being on here though I am assuming that saving a s@#$load of $ would be a motivator too.

  • Not sure if he specialises in LR, but Steve from Autostatt Automotive in Clayton is a good bloke…might be worth giving him a call too.
