Buying a Mattrass, How Much Did You Negotiate off Ticketed Price and Where?

Im about to go shopping for 2x Queen Mattresses,

Just wondering at what shops How much You have been able to negotiate off the ticketed/sale price?

We're Looking around the $550 mark, as that seems to be the medium range mattress

I notice Snooze have a instant 15% off for RAA, RAVQ ect members or 5% if a sale item, So that to me says I should be easily be able to get the same off at other shops… Although I dont have membership, Im sure I could Borrow someones card?!

Im in Adelaide, But if its a not a large franchise, Feel free to write it with State as it may help someone else!

  • $550 for a mattress is most definitely entry level. I have been a huge advocate for Ergoflex memory foam, best nights sleep and fixed a lot of my back issues. Queen will set you back $949 but compared to $4-5k for Tempur, its a steel!

  • The problem with 'I should be easily be able to get the same off at other shops', is that no other shop will have the EXACT same model (similar to what bunnings do), cleverly they all have slight variations so you can't 'price match' per say.

Figure out which one you want in that price range, then search for historical pricing online and go from there.

  • Adelaide (possibly all cities) has huge price swings on mattresses, generally when sales are on (just about all brands / types / stores) have 40-50% off ticketed prices at some point in the year, so I guess it depends how urgently you need to make your purchase.

Be wary on delivery - I bought from Snooze Mile End SA a couple of years ago and at that time they outsourced their delivery to a very shady delivery firm, smashed a few light fittings off the wall on the way in, dragged a filthy (diesel particulate from a warehouse) plastic wrapped mattress all over my carpet, I had a go at them and they gave me a mouthful in my own home about my fault for having stairs etc - standard loser response - I wasn't impressed, the store gave me the old "we use contractors not our problem" type response - really p%ssed me off even more ;-(
