Just found 2 bull ants in my home. I have lived in the same place (south eastern suburbs of Melbourne) for over 20 years and have never seen a bull ant in my home before. Does anyone know if there is a problem with bull ants in Melbourne this summer. Thank you.

2 bull ants do not constitute a problem. I'm surprised you've only seen 2 in 20 years since they are fairly common around Melbourne.
If they are coming into the house, try spraying a little vingar under and around the external doors of your house. The ants don't like the vinegar.
The bite is sharp and painful and generally lasts for about 5 minutes, then it's all over. Complications or allegic reactions are rare.
