www.aliexpress.com - What Do You Do - Refund/Feedback!?

I bought 3x of these a couple of weeks ago, before the Officeworks deal came up on ozbargain:

http://www.aliexpress.com/snapshot/6476795974.html?orderId=6…

The end with the flat disc has like a large pen lid over it - the disc has a piece of felt glued to the pen. That end is very sticky with glue through the felt pad and the sides of the pen. Making that end unusable.

What do I do now - click the "Open Dispute" button?
Something else?
Or just wear it?

Do I get back feedback too, if I give bad feedback - what's the process?

It's 4 dollars return shipping would be more then that.

    Either way it's only $4.

If you think the product wasn't as described, then contact the vendor.

The vendor has to reply to you and satisfy you with a response. If you are not happy then open dispute and AliExpress gets involved.

In all my dealings I had a run of "bad" luck and got 3 unsatisfactory products in a row from 3 different vendors. One was listed as 12V and 240V and was only 240V. We agreed on a reduced price. One there was no response from vendor after 2 messages. Aliexpress cancelled the payment and I got a refund. The third shipped me a new product even though the old one was workable, just marked, and did that before I could bargain for a lower price on the damaged unit.

In another case Aliexpress again refunded my money for faulty product.

Frankly from a buyers point of view they are excellent. The money is held in escrow until you release it when you get the product and are happy with it.

  • I received damaged (but not entirely unusable) goods through AliExpress and opened a dispute with photographic evidence. The seller offered me 50% refund without return. I ignored it and it went to the mediation team who offered me 90% refund without return. Again I did nothing and the money appeared back on my CC within a week or two.

Suffice to say I was happy with the outcome.

    • exactly.

bear in mind that it is chinese new year period and most businesses are closed.

Aliexpress is a joke. I went through the dispute process and it took just under 6 months to get the money refunded because they don't set any time limits on the overall process even with a dead simple dispute such as the tracking showing the item never got through customs in the sellers country. So time consuming and frustrating.

On their front page they promise

"You will get a full refund if your order does not arrive within the delivery time promised by the seller."

But if you try to claim on this having received your item late they treat you like you're completely insane. They simply can't comprehend giving a refund when you have received the item.

      Sigh.

  • Hm… Don't know how to photograph sticky glue on black plastic. Have to have a think about which way to go. I've half a mind just to forget the money and leave bad feedback because they shouldn't be selling junk.

    • Just show to sticking to the screen that will get the message across it's not acceptable;e

  • Just open a dispute and see what you get offered, My girlfriend bought me a "fender" telecaster copy for my birthday last year so I could use the body and neck to build my own project guitar and when it arrived it was a different guitar, similar but different enough in colour and some areas that some of the parts she had purchased for me wouldn't fit it. We opened a dispute with the seller and requested a 50% refund without sending the guitar back to compensate for the money lost on the parts, the seller got a bit nasty over it and was trying to get out of it cheaply until my girlfriend threatened to escalate it further and then all of a sudden the seller got co-operative and gave us an $85usd refund. So don't be afraid to take it further if you have to so that you get fair compensation. I've had a few other issues with items on there too but in all those cases the sellers were very helpful and easy to deal with.
