  • Maybe you could look around for some cheap "mattress bags"; literally those enormous thick-plastic 'bags' used to hold new mattresses. "Staples" sells them (or used to), not sure how much for, but it would be heaps cheaper than $16 a metre (surely you jest about that?!? I can by new bathroom tiles cheaper than that!).

If you're using plastic film, wind will be your enemy I reckon, unless your yard is really sheltered. You'll need to attach it really securely to the frame, or it will just rip/blow away.

  • Stevednj48, greenhouse plastic film is quite thick.(To me it feels about twice as thick as builders) I got some from a greenhouse, dirty and water filled from rain. They periodically have to replace it and if they get wind in the area it can tear. When they replace sections it usually has large sections that are still good. It is just waste to them.

I got mine through Gumtree in Adelaide(lucky). You may want to find out the Agricultural suppliers for market gardeners in your city. I've nicely asked them for suggestions in the past. (No you aren't a sale now - but you may expand and buy from them in the future)

  • hi thanks for your help everyone i just order some online in the end.
hopefully it will do the job
