Body Measurement

Does anyone know of cheap/free place in Sydney where I can get a full comprehensive body measurement report including fat % etc.

I am planning on doing this once a month.

I found one place but it is about $100 a go.

any help would be appreciated.

thanks,

  • You're better off investing in a tanita scale (about$150) that measures body fat, although not as accurate as a DEXA scan it can still give an indication of your body fat percentage.

Isn't OP better off buying some decent fat calipers instead??

      • Fat calipers are good, normally you need to do some research on how to use them and get someone else to take your measurements for it to be accurate.

Why are you looking at getting this done? If its just for weight loss I personally would recommend just a $30 electronic scale. I bought mine for about $27 from Harris Scarfe two years ago. It tells your weight, body fat %, water %, resting calories and BMI. Although it wont be as accurate as a full body scan, you can use it for tracking progress. For example, if you are 18%BF this month and 16% next month, you know that you are losing fat, you may not actually be 16% exactly, but you know you are less than last month.

          Not necessarily.

@waterlogged turnip: Negged? Srsly? If your hydration fluctuates between measurements, that's also going to affect the BF%, is it not? So you can't totally assume it's fat alone causing any changes in the number on the scale.. or am I misinterpreting that info?

I'm open to being corrected by all means. A neg with no comment isn't going to help elucidate anything or teach my why I'm presumably wrong.

@waterlogged turnip: talking to self looks bad ;) Let me even that neg for you.

        • @AznMitch: lol but I do it all the time!

          and thanks bro. haha

@waterlogged turnip: I personally don't know why you were negged, you did raise a valid point (at least it looks legit on the page, I think).

  • Join a gym, most of them will do it for free on a monthly basis

  • why do you need it so often?
