LG Fridge - Temperature Setting Keeps Changing by Itself?

Hi,

Does anyone know how to DIY fix a side by side fridge which has the problem of keep changing temperature settings by itself? or know how much it costs to hire someone to fix in Liverpool NSW area?

Thanks

    train the mouse better?

    • more cheese!

  • Actually, it could be the mouse! If you can, pull it out and check for rodents or geckos living in the back of it , down around the bottom. Have seen an infestation of geckos living around the thermostat line, their body heat would make the thermostat kick in and the compressor work harder. The extra heat of the compressor would make more geckos move in for warmth, and the fridge ice up. The owners electricity bill went from 600 to 1100 for the quarter. Just a thought, worth checking if you can.

  • I don't think its a mouse .. temperature keeps changing by itself similar to as if i press the temperature button located INSIDE the fridge ( it also beeps when it changes temperature itself - the same beep sound if i were to press the temp button to change temperature )

    • Inside job eh? Must be the Nomadic Arctic Mouse (Rattus arcticus ssp. minorus)

      • maybe the mouse and his friends have been having a sexy party in there late at night and accidently bumped the temperature control.

  • Mine changes back to standard it we have slight power outage. Ths could be happerning to you also.

  • Had the same thing.

Instead of mice, check for cockroaches, that was the case for me at least.

  • Hello Triton,
I have the same issue with my smart LG, and here is a solution that has worked for me.
Solution: Change the temperature to what ever setting you prefer and then turn off the smart display which is an energy saving function. Hopefully, it will hold the temp and not beep and keep cycling the temp. Good luck.
