Cheapest Internet Option

4 or so years ago when I was setting up an internet connection at my old place it worked out cheaper to have land-line with Telstra plus adsl connection, than it was to have naked broadband.

What's the go these days? Is this still the case? I use less than 5Gb of data per month…

You could probably go with a mobile data option with either a GSM/LTE router for Wi-Fi sharing the internet access or tethering from your smart phone hot spot.

    • Here ya go

Just get a 4G capable router and you will be set lol. As a matter of fact… if you don't care for speed much (3G is enough anyway) I remember seeing a vodafone 3g modem going for ~$20 at woolies… might need to unlock though… but it does come with data for 30 days I believe.

      • Thank you so much for that! I already have an amaysim 10Gb data pack. Will set up a hotspot and use it on my computer and iPad from now one and see how long that lasts me :)

        • Phone type data packs such as amaysim's are pretty expensive, mobile broadband can be had cheaper than that particularly if you go post-paid (and you use enough of your allocation). Heck even Telstra will do $100/10GB with 90 days expiry prepaid with credit rollover.
