Is your MI band still working?

Hi there,

I bought my Mi band ( now renamed Mi fit) in December. It was working fine until I received the lastest firmware update. Immediately afterwards, I got this error :

"Too many bands nearby" and it couldn't get it to pair with my phone.I have tried uninstalling the app & reinstalling, installing the 'notification' version of the app, disabling and re-enabling bluetooth…

I had to take it off because it kept vibrating every 10 minutes to 'remind' me to pair it with a phone.This morning, I noticed that it had run out of battery and tried to charge it. It won't charge. No LED lights flashing. I've tried plugging it in to my laptop instead of my wall charger but still nothing.

I've noticed that it is a common problem :
Mi band not working
Cannot pair miband

Is anyone else on here having the same problem? How did you solve it?

cheers,
JJB

    Its dead. Chuck it in the bin and move on with your life :(

    It may still rise from the dead, like the phoenix. Don't give up on it.

    Mine is fine but I've only been using it for a month

    • Do you wear it to shower?

        Not often. I find that the band gives me a pretty bad rash if I do

  • I have one and 4 of my mates too. I've been showering with it on for 3-4 weeks now without issue.

  • I've had the "Too many bands nearby" a couple of times, and it refuses to sync. I found similar complaints online that helped, I can't remember what order I did these actions:
    * turn bluetooth off
    * restart phone
    * turn bluetooth back on
    if still not working
    * unpair/re-pair

    • Doesn't work. Got someone at work to test for me. The problem is with the battery. Its a cheap one, that fried after only 2 charge cycle. So I think it's safe to assume that my miband is a fake one. Got it from tiny deals.

  • I bought from tinydeal and mine is dead (it would not connect with any phone), but its charging and working as expected

    • What do u mean working as expected? How can it work as expected if its not connecting with yr phone?

      • Sorry my bad. Everything is working as expected EXCEPT for the connecting part. Could be a fake one.

  • I have been using mine since January, had the firmware update recently and it is still going strong. I did snap off the loop on the wrist band this morning though. I just ordered another Mi Band along with a spare wrist band from Banggood.

    Mine was bought direct from Mi in Hong Kong (couriered over with a relative) and I am using it with a RedMi Note 4G (bought in Singapore).
