Spudshed (WA) Equivalent in Melbourne?

I found Spudshed very affordable, with great variety and prices. I havent come across anything like it in Melbourne.

Does anyone know of a Spudshed equivalent in Melbourne?

I absolutely love this store - but on the down side for you , it is only available here in W.A,. For once ,it would seem that we can have produce cheaper than the Eastern States. The person who owns the company is a local farmer who has taken on the major stores over a number of decades ( they obviously hate him ). He has now opened 6 stores in W.A. & every time they try to block him, he overcomes their grievances with extremely clever marketing strategy such as giving away free produce to customers which the majors can't do anything about. This has forced both Coles & Woollies to put on more specials - but still not as good as Spudshed. Also when buying from there you know the produce is fresh & not imported. Why pay for instance $2.29 kg for potatoes in Coles when in Spudshed you could have 10kg. for $2.99. The owner of this store should be one of our government parliamentarians . Hats' off to him for the excellent service he is providing.
However, back to Melbourne. Victoria markets aren't particularly cheap as they are too commercialized. My only suggestion would be to source a good, local growers mart in your area or failing that, should you have the garden space - cultivate your own veggie. patch.

In Adelaide me and my housemate have recently started going to the Gepps Cross markets on Sunday mornings - we go in with $10 each and come out with about 5 massive shopping bags full of fresh produce. Plus it's always good fun to have a bit of a poke around the bric a brac :)

Spudshed sounds like a pretty good institution - definitely something you'd need in Perth with the crazy high cost of living over there!
