Outstanding Traffic Offences Now Paid - Impact on National Police Check??

So here it goes:
- Called Fines support line to pay for a recent red light fine (my fault), but they advised me I have an outstanding WARRANT and an outstanding RESTRAINING ORDER against my name as well!!
- WARRANT was for a 2009 red light jump that I frankly did not know about whatsoever - changed address two weeks after said offence date (them sending letters to previous address??)
- RESTRAINING ORDER was for a 2012 fine (headlight not on late evening, my stupidity) that I had paid in full, but did not realize I paid it one day late, which made the late fees of 20 something dollars to accumulate and become 93 dollars. Again no letter, no warning.
- As confirmed by Fines executive on the phone, turns out my frequent house moves as well as a name change in 2012 led to these fines/subsequent notices not reaching me.
- I am going through final stages of a govt. job application - they need a national police check. Concerned that these two things don't appear on my report, I paid them off in full.

My question - Should I be worried about the Warrant and Restraining Order (only traffic offences) impacting my chances of getting this job I really have worked so hard for (a bad police check??)

P.S. Please be gentle guys, I have learnt from my mistakes on the road, and take driving much more seriously now.

I don't think it would be a problem. It's not actually all of your fault.

I think sometimes government agencies failed to tell the people who has overdue fine. Mine got caught last year with the ATO with $2,000 fine but I got finally a remission of the total amount. I NEVER received any letters, or phone call from them.

    • Thanks mate that's very reassuring :)

How on earth does one get a restraining order for a traffic offence? That's just nuts.

    • Yeah I almost wet my pants on hearing it lol.

Racked up a crap load of fines (My own stupidity, not going to justify them) through tolls that turned into police fines and a few warrants. No issues with the police check when I was working with government. They are mainly checking for fraud, assault and treason, and depending on where you work, possibly bankruptcy, Part IX, etc. Had no problems nailing the job and getting the police check though. A few years later, I paid off all the fines and had another police check done, still fine =)

    • Your words my friend were like gold nuggets to my eyes. Thanks.

Depending on the state, you can request a correction of records if you feel they are not an accurate representation, or may negatively impact you. (In South Australia, an enquiry costs money (unless a concession card holder), but a correction to records is free)

Different offences get revealed depending on the type of national police check (lots of things can get revealed for working with vulnerable persons, but not for a general probity check, which most office jobs are)

Also, depending on the legislation in your state, some older offences might not show up (In South Australia, this relates to the Spent Convictions Act)
