I know I'm missing something really obvious here so I apologise in advance ….. why/how does ShoppingExpress have 'click&collect' from Woolies/BigW ?

    • Woolies has joined hands with big sellers on ebay in offering this service. Its probably cheaper compared to the post office, though Australia Post claims they are the carriers in this service.

  • Unstated response time. Likely not <1ns.

Probably no lifetime warranty on this model.

    • Is this any good? It actually states that it has limited lifetime warranty.

      • Oh that's good. (Free replacements when it sacrifices itself)

Whether or not the surge protection is good enough to save your equipment is another matter.

  • One more negative [well 1/2 a neg], most people want these for chargers ect, and this one is no good for wall-warts with the sockets being recessed. A small point, but one to bear in mind.

    • +1

I just checked a few of my "wall warts", and all the ones I have bought in the last few years have the cylindrical extension to suit recessed sockets.

For older plugpacks, you can always plug a standard triangle-shaped double-adaptor into the powerboard. Modern double-adaptors have the plug to suit recessed sockets, but the sockets they provide are usually flat.

      • Good point - it's been a while since I've used double adaptors , but the more recent of my USB chargers are as you say. Now I have a horror scene of 12 units in six double adaptors balance on the back of a computer desk to clear out of my mind :-p

        • +1

I've got almost that horror scene - a six-way power board with four double adaptors, plus two piggyback power cords and two normal power cords. One powerboard for the entire desk, which has two computers, one monitor, and one set-top box.

I don't have all of the double adaptors filled with plugpacks though, some are just there because I have a "sideways" plugpack that would otherwise cover the socket beside it.

Also, don't balance power boards on your desk, use the power board's screw mountings and attach them to the vertical part of your desk that is just above your feet. Puts everything out of the way, and if your desk is against a wall, hides all the mess. If you need to plug things in and out regularly, daisy-chain a second powerboard, and keep that on top of your desk.
