Is redken/head and shoulders good?

They are on sale on groupon, was wondering if i should grab either. Are they are good? Head and shoulders claims it's great for dandruff, does anyone have any experience with that?

How do you even find reviews of health and beauty products anyway, [brand name] + reviews usually just gets lots of trash results on google…

  • I have lots of long fine spiral curls and find Redken Curveceous to be the best shampoo and conditioner on the market for curly hair and I've tried them all. Hair products are such an individual thing but the few that I know that use Redken for their hair types seem to like it.

    • The different types of shampoo are so confusing though. For example, i have dry hair, so should i use all soft, real control or extreme, as all three say they can help dry hair?

Edit : Just realised that even on sale, the redken is at $4 per 100ml which is double the non-sale price for most other shampoo brands…ouch!

  • Not sure about Redken but I used to get dandruff occassionally and Head and Shoulders was really good for that.

Now I just have a bottle and use it for a few days every 2 months. I find it too drying for regular use.

Or go to the chemist, anything with selenium sulfide should be effective.

    • Hmm, strange, are you using their 3 in 1 shampoo, conditioner and anti-dandruff? Its weird that a conditioner would be too drying.

The normal plain shampoo. Or for dandruff just try anything from the chemist with selenium sulfide like Selsun as suggested by Cupcake too:)

  • I forget where I seen it, but it was like Brad Pitt talking to George Clooney and Brad looks inside George's bag and see's a bottle of head and shoulders and Brad says "why do you have this, you dont have Dandruff?" and George smiles back and says "I know" then both wink at the camera….
Sorry I couldnt help but sharing when I seen the title.

Redken is salon quality and Head and Shoulders supermarket quality which is why there is such a price difference. Can't advise which to use as it's a bit of trial and error with these things. Redken is cheaper on eBay, $62.95 delivered for 2 x 1 litre bottles.

Try www.beautyheaven.com.au for haircare and make up reviews.

    • How do you know it REALLY is saloon quality? And how can you tell the difference anyway?

Strange, they don't appear to have any reviews of the head and shoulders 3 in 1 shampoo…

      • How do you know anything is really anything?!?! The only way to find out is to try it yourself. Not everything works for everyone. Consider it an investment for your hair.

  • Head and Shoulders do not work as well as Selsun Blue. You can get it at Priceline or Woolies and Coles.

    • what makes you say that?

  • Head and shoulders is okay but a product called Nizoral is great. From the chemist.

Redken is salon quality great stuff.

Look at reviews on makeupalley.com - as far as I know it's the most popular beauty review site online

  • Redken is a great stuff and worth buying.
