    (after $5 Sign up)

    ?? WTF ??

Why is the OP making such a big deal of a $5 spam signup?

$50 = yeah, but $5 is just poxy and not even worth mentioning.

Or do we all post then entire HN Website contents as deals "with $5 signup"

This is ozbargain where every dollar counts

Why is the OP making such a big deal of a $5 spam signup?

$5 is $5. If someone gave you, would you take it? I will.

    • Guys Guys Guys… You miss my point!

The deal is $133 for the camera and $218 for the Moto

Then there is a $5 Signup deal that applies to ANY single HN purchase. So, the $5 discount doesn't relate to the deal.

For example, I cannot get $5 off both items, if I buy both Camera and Phone.

And I cannot get 2 cameras for $256 (128 each)

      • +1

Just buy them separately, most people pick up anyway to save delivery cost. To be honest I wouldn't bother posting it every time but so many still don't know about it

The title of the deal reads as "$213 after $5 signup".

So I check the HN site and see that the normal price is $218.

OK - why would I pay $5 to sign up for something, then only get a $5 discount of the list price?

It's misleading - the use of the words "after $5 signup". It sounds like you are getting a special price after you sign up (which costs $5).

But it's just a $5 credit voucher. Yeah the $5 is cool. My comments ONLY relate to how the deal is worded.

      • +1

The normal price of the Motorola moto g isn't $218 it's $292, the $5 off is just an extra bonus

  • Sign up twice

  • FYI - no stock in my area except Auburn (Sydney).

But only $5.95 delivery to Sydney is cheap.

  • I paid $213.18 for the Moto G LTE in August last year.

  • Very good price for Moto G 4G…

It does appear on some sources though that the Moto G 2nd Gen 4G should be on its way (it's already there in a few countries, but Moto's supply chain management in Australia…the less said the better).

    • What do you reckon, this first gen or the next one with the 5"?
Seems like a steal of a phone for that price…

      • +1

This is the 1st-Gen 4G model (came out after the original Dual-SIM 3G model). Single SIM, but has 4G and Micro-SD slot.

I still think it's a good buy for the price, but alternatives like the Huawei Y550 for less than $90 are better value still.

        • +1

This is definitely the first gen.

The second gen Moto G 4G is currently only available in Brazil and the chipset does not work in all countries. It is likely to be coming to other countries soon but it will also likely require another 4g capable chipset at the right price point.

The fact they are selling off the old version may be proof of the new one coming, but we can only hope.

          @rygle:

Apparently the second gen 4G version is about to become available from March 16 in the UK, but not yet in the US. This version may be compatible with all Aussie networks or it may only be compatible with some.

This camera is JUNK, case of "in life you get what you pay for"

Its RED only and NO viewfinder

Thomastown H/N still have the price at $155 only offered the special price after he checked H/N website

SO, H/N Thomastown and this model camera a hsit,,,,

    • Its RED only and NO viewfinder

It's a digital camera. It has a 3" diagonal viewfinder that covers the entire back of the camera.

No need for squinting, like those pesky 35mm film jobbies that you are probably thinking of.

  • Just a quick question to anyone using this phone, does the 4G work on Vodafone network.
