Rancilio Silvia + Rocky or Equivalent Combination Coffee Machine + Grinder

Hello all!

I know this may not be a bargain for some but for those who can bear with me, please help me out!

Want: a coffee machine + grinder combination similar in specs/quality as Rancilio Silvia V4 + Rocky Doserless grinder.

I have done some research on the Rancilio Silvia V4 + Rocky Doserless grinder. The cheapest I can find is $990.21 AUD (720.44 EURO) delivered to Australia. Also using coupon code: 8988 provided by the site.

Anyone can find any better? Thanks in advance!

  • That's cheaper than what I paid in 2005. I'd say that's a pretty good deal, don't think you'll find cheaper locally. Mate picked up a combo from gumtree for $600, barely used. Might be worth a try if you're not averse to second hand.

    • No problems with getting second hand actually. I have looked, the closest I've seen so far is $1150 for almost brand new (bought last month) and still with papers.

  • +1

    Hi,

The deal you are talking about incorporates a "Global" Warranty that involves you sending the unit back to Italy at your expense. https://www.espressocoffeeshop.com/index.php?route=informati…

This could be considerable and inconvenient.

Also, depending on the exchange rate you are at AUD$989.35+ (very close to the $1000 mark) above which you are in for an Import Declaration, and paying duties, taxes and charges.

    You could consider:

with a local Warranty support. http://www.coffee-a-roma.com.au/shop/en/info/warranty-14.htm…

    • Yea I am definitely also considering a local machine because of the warranty side of things. An extra $200 plus potentially $100 accessories is still something i'm contemplating.

  • Call mocopan, see how much they sell them for. I got mine direct from them. That was long ago though.

  • Have you thought about another brand. I previously had a Silvia (wore out about 15 mnths ago), and when I went looking for a replacement found there is now much more on offer in the way of quality machines than there used to be - when the Sylvia was the only real contender in its price range. I did however end up paying a bit more than I wanted, and bought a Breville twin boiler (first series) which was on special incl grinder for just under $1100.

    • Which model of machine and grinder for the breville is that? It's within my budget anyway.

    • Yeah I would also like to know what machines with grinders do you think are modern contenders and what Breville twin boiler model ?
      thanks.
