Domestic Flights from Melbourne to Brisbane/Gold Coast

Hi All. Looking at flights from Mel-Bri or Mel-Gold Coast (return for 2 adults) over the xmas break 2015. From peoples experience, should I book now or would there be deals maybe in a couple of months?

In general the prices go up as the planes fill up.

In general there aren't any airline sales for travel during school holidays, especially for domestic flights. You could search all the flight deals ever posted on Ozbargain but I have never seen one for the Christmas/New Year break. There was a universal 10% off code once but that was a targeted offer that got unpublished.

Have a look at this thread as well:

Perhaps sign up for a credit card with plenty of bonus rewards points that can be used for a flight.

  • I agree with the above, sales for school holidays can be difficult to come by.

Check out Tiger fares, and see if you can price beat with Jetstar (comparable flight must be within 1 hour) and add baggage onto that. Probably the cheapest way to go about it, although I don't know if it would be more complicated booking for a family.

I know Qantas and Virgin have a couple of discount codes floating around atm, but I don't think they extend to Dec. Do a quick search on OZB to see the relevant deals.
