  • I dont see an EPG mentioned anywhere on COTD but if it is indeed the AP-360T then the astone site does.

    • DTV Support: DVB-T, DTV EPG
    • Record Function: DTV EPG / Timer Recording, Pause Live TV, one-touch recording
    • This includes a WD 808Gb HDD.

The prices you quoted above does not. If you can find me a WD 808Gb HDD for $45, let me know.

  • Can this be used with IceTV's "Interactive" subscription program guide and recording schedule?

    • FYI: I submitted this question on Astone's website. A representative from 'Achieva Technology Australia' replied saying that this device is not compatible with IceTV Interactive.

Cannot record TV and play movie at the same time.

    • you can

      • Is this from personal experience with this model, or another's experience? I ask because it's not mentioned on the product's page…

        • +1

confirmed with ASTONE, you cannot watch and record different channels at the same time, but you can play movie at the same time of recording.

    • Damn, would be great if it allowed it! :( I'd buy one if it did.

  • just bought one looks good and supports what i need :)

  • I grabbed one with the wifi dongle. Seems to do everything I need :)

  • didnt 1saleaday have this last time for alot cheaper

Yes, but that was the AP-300 model.

Very similar with 808Gb HDD, but did not have the PVR function. That was $189 + $10 postage (I got one, its very good and handles nearly every format you can think of - also very quick).

I wont upgrade yet, cant think of anything I would want to record from TV.

Bit the bullet and went for it. Hopefully it can play everything I throw at it!

  • Great deal, just ordered one…for a family member, sadly! ;)

I'm really happy with my AP-300 too, PVR would be nice, but overkill for me…one of the Pinnacle dual tuner PCIe cards wisc found a while back takes care of the small amount of TV I care to watch/record! :)

  • The remote looks like a full sized one compared to the one that comes with the AP-300.

Just about everyone who wants/needs a PVR will almost always wish they had a "true" dual tuner model like a tivo.

You will find that if more people in your household cotton on to the brilliance of PVR's you will be recording every second thing on tv, and you need to be able to then record two channels whilst watching a recorded show.

This unit would suit one person who watches the odd tv show, and loves to use channel "BT" to download movies etc

    My 2 cents worth… :)

    • haha .. sounds like me … glad I bought one!

Although I'm still waiting for it to even be shipped … :(

  • yay got mine today, although i do live 3 suburbs away from their depot, if only they offered pickup :)

  • Bought one and now am still waiting… Australia Post is lousy :( Takes anywhere from like 2 to 7 business days just to send something from Sydney to Townsville.

  • I got mine a couple of days ago. Note that I have not yet RTFM. My experience so far:

Added a scheduled recording, set for Mon-Fri, which successfully kicked off the first time it was meant to. The second day (yesterday), the scheduled recording didn't kick in. I couldn't see an option to modify the scheduled recording, apart from disabling/enabling the scheduled recording.

The data in the EPG doesn't seem to be taking daylight savings into account. My shows that start at 3PM are listed for 2PM. I have manually set the time and not used the time from the EPG, so this may be the reason.

Unlike other solutions that have more flexible EPGs, such as MCE and Web Scheduler, the ASTONE records to the minute based on the EPG data - not a minute more/less (useful if programs run earlier or later than the EPG's times).

During DTV, a signal degredation/loss occurred. The video recovered a couple of seconds later, however when it did, audio was lost. I had to change channels (then change back) to rectify.

I am yet to play with networked media. I might have a play with it over the next week or so.

  • I do hate the shipping fee…
I find the place to get it $298 with 808GB harddisk, however, without shipping. I just picked up from Auburn. It's not just save the postage, also saved time. I'm not sure about the shipping time, but once the item have any problem, it means need to post back to store and wait they shipping back. It really takes long time that I cannot wait…..
