Affordable Sunglasses (polarized would be preferable)

hi guys,

just wondering if you could recommended some decently priced polarized sports sunglasses? cant afford the Oakleys/RayBans since I usually break or lose my sunglasses every 1-2 years or so.

will use it for sports, so the wrap-around ones are ideal….

thanks in advance!

Nike have some good prices on some of the less popular colours on Amazon

I don't have any online links, but try to find the kiosks in Westfields and the like. They'll have generic branded polarised sunnies in all sorts of designs and colours for $30-40 a pair.

Safety shops have some surprisingly good cheap rated glasses -polarised, antifog etc

I use some as disposable non-polarised, but antifog, running sunglasses. I don't care if I drop or scratch them -just throw them out and spend another $8-12. Polarised glasses can make some mobile phone screens unreadable.

  • I use these (smoked)

for bike riding and tennis and while they are not polarized, they are brilliant for sports. They are very lightweight and aren't too dark. Used to get them for $10 from mercedes service shop but they are hard to come by these days at that price.
Also got a few sets from aldi for $10 which come with smoked, orange and clear lenses that are easily interchangeable and they are really good for me (friend tried them and said they don't fit him well so might depend on the size and shape of your head) Smoked lense is darker than the frontiers, orange is awesome in gloomy weather and i need clear lenses for work so for $10, they are a winner.

  • Wow, I didn't think they still made my model, but here they are for half price for $50 with free postage (Myer used to sell them, maybe see if you can try them on) … I bought them for the same purpose and reason as the OP, cheapness and polarisation. And Dirty Dog are a reasonable brand. Good value for reasonable quality lens. Polarisation is not as good as Oakley (I own a pair too) but for the price it's great.

Been wearing these sunnies since I started running 3 years ago and been happy ever since.
