4G Modem Options

The other day my DSL was playing up, so I tethered my phone and found my ping time in game was half what it is on DSL (phone SIM is Telstra, DSL is MNF) and it was pretty reliable all day. I don't mind tethering to play games but the pocket wifi modem I have doesn't get the same ping time and I was thinking about getting another that will cover 4G as well. Since then the ping has been low with occasional spikes but this might be due to my phone having dual sim (Moto G).

Is there a current release modem that will work on 4G for Telstra, Optus and VF like my old pocket wifi does for 3G? What are my options?

I had a look at the latest Coles, WW and Auspost catalogues and haven't seen anything. I might need to go in and see what they have available. I don't live near any Officeworks, JBs etc but I'll order one to be delivered or pick one up next week if I need to.

Thanks.

Their best modem is the Telstra Wi-Fi 4G Advanced Pro X
"Minimum cost on a 1GB plan over 24 months is $768."

Telsta have 4G My Pocket Wi-Fi Plus and 4G My Pocket Wi-Fi Ultimate listed in the Prepaid part of their site but office works has a different Telstra 4G modem (older) for just $20 with 3 gig of data. It works with less 4G frequencies.

$129 Telstra Pre-Paid 4G My Pocket Wi-Fi Ultimate Mobile Broadband

    • I ended up grabbing the E5372T from auspost for $49. Officeworks shows $19 but no stock.

Unlocked it, flash new firmware and it's running well. To start with it didn't find a 4G signal but maybe they were doing maintenance because a few hours later it was up. It also has 2 antenna ports if you're in a low signal area.

      • How does your E5372T work until now?

        • Still flawless mate. Ping is solid for gaming.

        • @whitty: Thanks a lot, mate.
