  • I have a Dolce Gusto machine at home and finding the pods are not what I wanted. Borrowed a Nesspresso machine to try the different pods available. Took this oppertunity to order the Sumatran pods. Thank you.

  • anyone know on the quality of the plastic capsules? seen plenty on youtube where the capsule gets soft or melts slightly when used

    • :(

There is a chance they use a better quality version, just checking-

but this is what the crappy ones do https://youtu.be/jBpzR9TIyus?t=5m43s

For budget capsules, the coles band ones are 50c a capsule (full price), Aus roasted fair trade coffee and are pretty decent for what they are. They however have a slower flow rate then genuine nespresso though. I use 2 in my mug if I am after something decent (too used to real coffee from my other machine

I've been buying pods from https://www.espressorium.com.au for a few months now. They are plastic, but good quality and the coffee is fantastic!

I bought about 50 pods for $30 inc shipping in January.

      • Definitely not that cheap now.

        • I havent bought from them since I got my last batch, so not sure.

There are a lot of companies making them now. You can even buy refillable / resuable pods from places like Kitchen Warehouse (Perth) and ground up your own coffee. Ive never tried it so not sure on results.

Also, a south australian coffee company called Podista makes good hot chocolate pods (available in Woolworths).

        • @alwayslooking:

my issue with podista is that they only contain chocolate powder in their capsules… My Ozbargain self says that it is cheaper to buy a container of chocolate powder and make it myself…. the pods also store chocolate and it dirties up the machine, so hard to clean afterwards

        • @AndrewRox22:

THIS - I tried the podista hot choc and they are ok, but really you'll get a better hot choc out of adding your own chocolate powder to boiling water and frothed milk (with a bit of sugar thrown in). Is cheaper too.

    • The quality of these coffee pods is excellent..No melting etc. Been buying for over a year now. Use them in my nespresso. Taste wise better than any other coffee pods, especially the Indian flavor.

  • Cheers OP ;)

  • Just ordered two trial packets. My quest for the perfect nespresso coffee continues!

    • When you find some, drop me a message :)

      • I will say that these pods are ok. But they are pretty similar to what you can buy 3rd party wise at Woolies/Coles etc. If they were free shipping all the time I'd probably buy more trial packs, but I don't want to buy a massive packet of any of them as none of them really float my boat, they are also all very similar tasting IMO.
