Vital Rooibos 50 Teabags - 50% off, $2.50 at Coles

200

Hello everyone. I've recently taken to drinking Rooibos. It is a plant from South Africa and is a member of the honey bush family. It is caffeine-free, organic and has anti oxidants. It is earthy and naturally sweet in flavour. Member of the honey bush family I think.

I think it's nice to have in the evening or before sleeping as it is relaxing, sweet and doesn't have any caffeine. Looks like this

Vital is replacing the current 50x2g teabags with 40x2.5g bags so the current stock is 50% off until cleared at all Coles. Usually these are $4+. I don't know whether loose leaf rooibos is cheaper or not (would love to know).

Good deal in my view, especially those who like rooibos.

wow, the 40 bags change came in ages ago. If I knew the 50bags version was still in stock I'd have stocked up big time.

Great deal though, although I assume ymmv store to store.

    • Yes, I've seen the new packaging (40 bags) too. They mention on Facebook that they already phased that out in Woolies quite a while ago. But I guess they didn't do the Coles clear out till now.

Plenty of stock at Burwood NSW if anyone is interested. I am sure all major Coles shops have some old stock too.

      • ah, I normally shop at Woolies, that explains

  • How is any tea not organic?

    • I guess this has some fancy certification.

Because most tea is heavily sprayed with pesticides.

Look at the recent report by Greenpeace India. In that country alone, teas sampled contained 34 different pesticides, most of them not registered for use. They even found banned chemicals like DDT in tea.

      So that's why organic.

      • Wow, if you drink lots of tea this could be a worry, will have to read, hope they have done some scientific tests about it and mention brands

Try "Just Rooibos", much better quality than Vital. If you compare the two you'll notice Vital has a lot more of the stem, and less leaves, hence cheaper and less flavour

    • Thanks, good to know. Will wait for a special on that now :-)

picked some up for $2.08/box, although local Coles was sold out and I managed to ding both drivers side doors on my car on the way out after going there and buying nothing.

    • I hold no responsibility for the dinged car doors ;-)

Hope it isn't too bad. If you are worried the red tea might come in handy at least.

      • it's pretty bad, but I did eventually get 6 boxes of tea from another Coles
