Carusos Krill Oil 500mg 120 Caps - $30 (55% off, $0.25/Cap) @ Chemist Warehouse

30

Carusos is changing packaging on some of their products. Therefore some of products are on sale for 50% off or more @ Chemist Warehouse. I thought this particular 'King Krill' 500mg 120caps product for $30 was a decent deal. It is of the 'red krill' variety too.

Product info

Here is the formulation info per capsule:

E. superba oil - 500mg
Equiv. to Eicosapentaenoic Acid 71mg
Equiv. to Docosahexaenoic Acid 42.5mg
Equiv. to Astaxanthin 500mcg

Compared to the Swiss 500mg 'Deep sea' krill oil it's quite good IMO:

EKO KRILL OIL 500 mg (Euphausia superba oil)
EICOSAPENTAENOIC ACID (EPA) 65 mg
DOCOSAHEXAENOIC ACID (DHA) 37.5 mg
ASTAXANTHIN 150 mcg (from Euphausia superba oil)

However, it is EXACTLY the same as the 'Neptune' Swisse 500mg krill oil:
http://www.swisse.com/au/vitamins-and-supplements/omega-3s-k…
which is certified from NKO which I think is the best provider of krill oil source.

All other Carusos branded deals are here:

The 1000mg - 60 caps are on sale for $31.69

Most of the other products seem like junk obviously, so be careful.

edit: the expiry dates were quite long (2016 mostly)

  • Chemist is in my search alerts configured, any ideas why I didn't get an email about this?

    • I don't think so. Here is what's inside the one you linked:

      Containing:

      Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) 130 mg
      Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) 75 mg

Not quite double though as you would expect from 500mg to 1000mg.

"It's the way they make it, that makes all the difference"!

  • Woolies and Coles have half price of 200 pack and 400 pack. I bought macro 200pack for $9, the other Natures own for around $15 for 200 pills.
