Surprised nobody has posted this.

Soniq have put up a deal in correspondence to the Cricket World Cup game: Australia vs India.

For every run Aaron Finch makes, they will take $5 off the TV. If he makes a century, the TV will be free.

This is a 42inch Ultra HD TV. It has not been released anywhere from what I've seen.

It will discount the TV live with every run he makes, and you can buy at any time (if stock is still left). I see nothing stated as to how much stock they have. If I'd take a punt, maybe a couple of hundred, if that?

Finch's average for ODI's is 36.57 in 47 games (not sure what his average is vs India), and he has never made a century against India. I'd say 60 runs is the bargain range ($300 off so $400), however I highly doubt he'd make a century. :(

Here's a good article following up to the India game: http://www.abc.net.au/news/2015-03-24/finch-looking-to-get-b…

Game starts 14:30 (Melbourne time) and Finch is first up to bat if Australia win the toss.

Good luck everybody and post your bargains if he has a blinder! :)

That's because this belongs in the Forums, it is not a bargain…

    • +1

It will become a bargain if he makes enough runs. Should I wait 'till it's to late and post it then?

      • It will become a bargain IF he makes enough runs.

That's when it should be posted then, at the moment, it is not a bargain. There is no price…

        • Well then, an admin can feel free to move it to the forums if they feel the same way you do, and I can post if he makes half-a-century.

        • @Heres Johnny:

feel free to move it to the forums

          done…

        • @jv: Thank you. Will post if he (fingers-crossed), makes 50.

        • @Heres Johnny:

Will post if he (fingers-crossed), makes 50.

So what will the price be if he does ???

        • @jv: The price will be $450. However, I don't think he'll make any more then 60, so that's probably the best he'll get. I call it a bargain if he makes 60 though, as it'll be almost 50% off the original price of $700.

          @Heres Johnny:

          "Free at a Century"

How will it be 'free' if he makes a century? It will be $699-500 = $199

          Also…

Here’s the catch (no pun intended). If Aaron Finch gets out before you’ve made your bid, the price of the TV will go back to $699.

This is more like a lottery…

        • @jv: To celebrate Aussie Cricket, we’re knocking $5 off the price of this TV for EVERY RUN that Aaron Finch scores against India on Thursday 26th March. As a little bonus, if Finch hits a century, and there’s still products left, we’ll give them away for FREE! Yep, that’s right. FREE. ZERO. ZIP. NADA. ZILCH!

As soon as he hits a century, it becomes free and you just add it to the cart. Yes, it is a gamble but as I said, once he hits 50 runs, you're in bargain territory (imo).

I might be interested if he gets to 120…

        • @jv: It's free at 100… End of the day, that's your opinion and there's plenty of people out there looking for a cheap 4k TV. $500 or less for a UHD TV is a pretty good buy (if he makes the runs).

  • Where do we but it from? Which store? Is the discount in the form of a rebate after purchase? If its free how do we secure one?

    • +1

Click the link in the description. You buy it straight from the Soniq website. The discount is live, so every run he makes, it will go down $5. If it's at $500, it will show up as $500 in the cart. Once you buy it, that's what you buy it for. If he makes more runs and it goes lower, then you've missed out and bought it for the price you bought it for. It's all a gamble until he makes a century, which it will then be free.

  • Page is now gone - 404 and the www.42finch.com redirects to a 404 as well…

100 unit limit from the article too.

    New link: http://soniq.com/au/shop/televisions/ultra-hd-tvs/42-inch-ul…

  • That sounds like Soniq. It is JB Hi Fi's brand. I have had nothing but trouble with the two.

  • 43 Decision Pending.

  • sold out!

    • +1

      at $474

    • Only 100 units - wasn't going to last long. Last price I saw was $490

    • +4

      Why is it a scam?

Was only ever 100 units reported in the article at least.

Why do you feel so entitled and now you missed out you claim you'll badmouth them?

      • -7

        What's it you?

        • +4

You decided to tell the world by posting.

          @Shonky:

And you feel entitled to reply, why?

          @jzx100:
Because your post is incorrect and misguided.

It's not a scam and your intention to "advise many people" to not buy Soniq is pointless (if you even follow through on that). There's no rep here to even hear you. You're going to actively waste your time because you missed out on some kind of deal? Sure.

I don't like the fact they sponsor the Manly Sea Eagles. :-)

I'd say JB Hi-Fi purchased the lot. :-( At $490, it's probably cheaper than they can buy it for.

    • Soniq is a JB HiFi brand

  • Back in the year 2000, Dominoes Pizza found themselves in some trouble, when they had some free Pizza deal if NSW scored a certain amount of points. They won 56 to 16. People were lined up early for their free Pizza, & a number of stores ran out of bases early & had to close early.

  • Error displaying the error page: Application Instantiation Error: Could not connect to MySQL.

    • Also Resource Limit is reached is another error.

      • It's "out of stock" anyway. Everyone is banging on the web server now Finch's score is getting up there.

        • -1

          73 not out.
Admittedly good advertising for Soniq. They should dump Manly now.

    • OzBargained?

  • Finch out for 81. $294 TVs?

  • 81 runs! Did anyone score a discount of $405? That'd be a killer deal!

    • No. Read above. They sold out at about $469

      • I kept getting errors. The last I saw was $424.

        • +1

I doubt it. It was out of stock well before that.

  • +1

Yeah, it's over. TV "sold out" at $424 (being the lowest price it got to). Never know what happened. People could've gone nuts when a decision was pending for lbw at 47, people going nuts at 50 (as he hasn't really gone past that in his last few games), or they could've simply changed it to out of stock when they saw he could actually potentially make 100. 100 stock isn't very much anyway; especially if thousands were going on the site at a time. Didn't really hit amazing bargain territory whilst in stock, but oh well. Congrats to those who got the tv anyway. Not too bad for an unreleased 4k tv. :)

Interesting. I did have one in my cart at about $460-470 (was trying to find out what shipping was going to be). I just received an email:

    Hi xxxx,

We see that you have added the 42” UHD LED Smart TV into cart during the match yesterday and didn’t finish check out.

There had been an unprecedented traffic to the website which caused a temporary downtime and we apologize for that.

We can offer you the TV at $424 including free shipping as this was the price at which our stock was selling out.

Our customer service team is contacting those customers who were unable to finish the check out before the downtime to complete the order today.

Please advise if you would still like to proceed with the order, if not please let us know as we have other customers on a waiting list as stock did run out.

    Regards,

    yyyyyy yyyy

Decent effort by them really given how most other stores would operate and at least they're doing the right thing (tm). Not a "scam" as some would claim.

    • +3

Gotta give them a +1 for that.

    • I got that email too.
