LG G2 or G3 - Solved: G3 it is

Decisions, decisions, decisions.

From what I can see the cheapest Australian stock (which is preferred) for the G3 is at Mobileciti for 498$ but it's vodaphone branded which I don't know what it looks like? or should I get the one that's not network branded for $524 on their ebay page?

Dick Smith today is currently have a 40$ off deal so the G2 is at 409$ However IT'S WHITE. Everyone says the white looks cheap and plastic while the black looks more premium. Ugh I'm more a black guy myself so..

which is the better deal and better phone? makes my brain hurt, really.

AFAIK, the branding is only a splash screen on boot and maybe a couple of branded bloat apps which you can delete anyway. Depends on your preference.

As for the G2 over the G3, I have the G2 and battery life is more important to me than some of the other extra features and price of the G3. I understand that the G3 has a memory card slot and removable battery but uses a little more battery. Double check before buying. Horses for courses I guess.

On a side note, why did you put the $ symbol at the end of all your prices? I see others do this but I cannot understand why. Then you include a price with it at the front. Was that a mistake or were all the other ones a mistake and that one right? I'm not trolling, just genuinely curious.

    • Thanks for the reply, I mean right now all my images and music are on a SD card on my phone that's just I guess one "little" hassle for me if I get the G2. Personally i use a lot of social media and take lots of photos.

Regarding the $$$$$ sign haha, sometimes I just type it out I would say it out loud like four hundred and ninety dollars hence I put the dollar sign at the end. Then sometimes I would type it correctly, I have no idea I do it subconsciously sometimes.

      • Ahh, I see. Makes sense I guess. Was just confusing to me seeing these dollar signs at the end of prices everywhere.

Yep, probably the G3 is more suited to you. Just confirm the removable battery and memory card slot before purchase. There are a few different models getting around.

        Good luck.

  • There was other post about 20% off on ebay, so you can wait and take that advantage as well.

    • G2 isnt listed on the ebay page of Dick Smith

  • G2 for that price isn't worth it, just based on price alone id say the G3 is the better buy here, however there are other differences such as battery life etc which you need to have a look for yourself.

I've read articles saying the QHD screen actually doesn't make that much of a difference, maybe an hour or so less battery than if it were 1080p.

Are you hard coded for LG G2 or G3. Have a look for second gen Moto G LTE, should be pretty good when it comes, maybe within your price range here.

Just don't know when Aus will get it.

    • I mean the G3/G2 are beasts of a phone which I need, we already have the Moto G LTE in our household and for the price it's a great budget phone but I'm looking for better specs which the LG has

  • I have had both (dropped my G2 in the drink and upgraded to G3). Both great phones. I can't think of anything that I can do on my G3 that I couldn't do on my G2. G2 battery seemed to last the best part of 2 days, my G3 lasts 1 day. I think the size of the G2 is a bit better. Both are great options though.

    • That's the thing, the battery is so tempting then again it doesn't have an SD card slot.

Explain the size, why is the G2 better? Fits better in your hand? Pockets?

      • With the case on it is a bit big and a little uncomfortable in my pocket sometimes.

Storage isn't a huge issue, I wish my 2013 Nexus was bigger than 32gb but it is fine for me with the phone as I don't really put movies on it.

      • The width, just big enough and not too wide to be operated single handedly.

  • Will recommend g pro 2 best phone I ever had, was using note 2

  • Currently leaning towards the G3 for $498.00 based on your comments.. is the price even a deal though?

Oops looks like Mobileciti just posted a deal for the G3 @ $448

  • Everyone says the white looks cheap and plastic while the black looks more premium. Ugh I'm more a black guy myself so..

Sounds like you should go in store and have a feel yourself rather than going by what others think.
