This post is part deal, part good idea.

Sharing a queen sized bed with a quilt hogger is no joke, so I thought - why not get a King size quilt? An extra 300mm width! So wandered into Harris Scarfe and, even better, they had a size I'd never seen before - Super King Size. (2400 long x 2700 wide)!! Woo Hoo. Queen size is 2100 x 2100mm, so you're getting an extra 300 mm length plus an extra 600 mm width. The quilt almost hits the floor each side.

The link is to the King size at $249 (50% off that now), but I found the same quilt Super King size in store for $299 (so $149.50). The quality of these quilts is very good, soft and good loft.

Not a whole lot of options for quilt covers though. They have some on the site (40% off now). I got the white version of the seersucker one which looks ok for $119 a set (with pillow cases).

    Well, yeah, it's probably more of this stupid celebrity labelling like you see with celebrity cookware. I got a Simply Vera underlay a while ago and it's been good to sleep on.

  Damn…why wasn't I smart enough to think of getting a king size quilt to use on a queen bed to share with my quilt hogger wife.

    The extra length is great - you can pull it up round your ears and your feet are still well covered. I know it's not exactly rocket science.

  Good luck finding a quilt cover for it. They're either super rare, super expensive, or both.

    The set I got with it wasn't too bad - $119 for the cover and pillow cases, but there is a limited range. Some online.
