Just make sure you're paying to use theirs and not the other way around. Don't want liability for whatever someone else is doing on your connection :)
And while you are at it, don't download anything illegal! :)

Define 'reasonable connection'. And how far is the distance? How many walls between you? What are the devices involved?
I can still connect to my own Archer D9 even when I'm out of my home and standing at the front gate — I live in a three story unit, on the top most floor and can still use the wifi reliably on my phone when I'm on the ground level. The connection is dual-band 5ghz 802.11n and there's less interference as a result.
