Fleetwood Mac - Ticketmaster - Having a Vent

So, I am pssed off and just needed to vent to someone.
I bought really good tickets to Fleetwood Mac when they were supposed to come to Perth back in 2013 - but they cancelled. Fair enough, if John has cancer you have to cancel the concert.
Well, I got screwed over by the ticket agency's 'service fees' which were apparently non-refundable, but otherwise I got my money back.
So, I thought, surely the band will look after its loyal fans by offering something to the poor schmucks who were disappointed last time when they cancelled. Nope - nothing.
Well, I thought, I guess I can live with that.
So, I jump onto the Ticketmaster website when it opens for Amex pre-sales. I look at the seating plan and the sections C1-3 and C8-10 were all classed as 'Gold' and selling at around $200 each.
I think these are the best for the price but none are available in the Amex pre-sale. So I call Ticketmaster and they say, check the website on Monday when the My Ticketmaster pre-sale starts, they should be released then. There were lots of other Gold seats available but I decided to hold out for the better seats to become available.
So I check back today when the My Ticketmaster presale opens… and they have reclassified the seats I wanted from Gold to Platinum - an extra $100 per seat!
Now I don't expect much from people but I can't help but feel that I have been royally screwed over here. So much so it has put me off going. I am also p
ssed off that the venue is now a football stadium rather than the Arena.
I will probably regret not going but I think I'm just over it.

TL:DR - if you are too lazy to read it then don't bother commenting.

Why is a majority of your post in italics?

On-topic: My friend tried to buy the tickets today (release at noon) and they were all sold out in 3 minutes! I can't imagine the organisers being nice, since they're all rolling in a pen of $$$ instead.

    Maybe raise the issue further?

    • That's cute. Each time the OP uses the word 'pssed' the italics are toggled. They must have put the i inside 2 asterisks.

In my youthful, shameless teenage days, we used to hang around the back of venues on the day (and I do mean day, hours before the actual show) in an attempt to catch the band visiting for sound-check, and/or hope that the band manager drops by and takes pity on us poor streetkids desperate to meet the band and/or score tickets to any shows we missed out on due to them being sold out in minutes..

I've met several bands and scored free tickets (via having my name down on the guest list) by doing that… but they were at smaller venues rather than stadiums :S

(my post is rather pointless, sorry.. I guess I'm more writing for nostalgia of my gig-going days rather than being of any help to you lol)

Gigs are so expensive these days. Damn.

OP may not be as hot as you.

      • I most definitely was not a hot teenager. lol

Hey Waters, hotness is highly subjective… and for many it's more reflected in attitude, than looks. I bet as a teenager, you were plenty hot!

        • @GnarlyKnuckles: lol OzBargain seems to disagree lol
