Recommend me a approx 400-450L fridge

So my fridge tripped my power a couple times last night, it's happened before years ago but got it fixed. This time, we've decided it's time to move on, it's over 15 years old and probably chews a bit too much power anyway.

But can someone recommend me a fridge around 420L, I know the eBay 20% is still on, so loved to get it for a discount, but I don't now much about fridges, and there is way too many options and brands.

Someone please help.

  • I was just doing some research into this today. How tall is your space? (unfortunately it's a huge limiting factor for me so I had to rule out most brands).

    Look into: F&P E402BRE3 (80% rating on choice), LG GN-450UWL (78%), and F&P E442BRE3 (80%)

    • I have the 520L F&P E522 and I couldn't be happier with it.

I've found most of the LG, Westinghouse and other brands to be tacky and plasticy on the inside.

      • Glad to hear it, that was the one I decided on in the end!

    • I got a spot for about 165cm, but if it's taller there is a space where I can have it up to 250cm. So I have the space, I'm just looking for a good fridge, at a good price hopefully.

      Thanks, I'll look into those.:)

      • Yeah, just to give you an example, E442BRE3 is 170 cm tall but they recommend 180cm installation height (for airflow). My space is 172 cm and I had a lot of trouble finding stuff that would fit it.

  • If you are looking to compare the ongoing running costs, this website is really handy…

  • I have a larger LG that I purchased @ 5 years ago. So many of the plastic shelves have broken, and the handle has corrosion around it. I later saw other reports on productreview.com.au on the same model.

  • Thanks heaps for the replies. I bought the Electrolux EME4200 430L bottom loader fridge. I noticed how hard it is to choose and decide, brands, similar sizes, and different door openings can be so confusing.

I'm happy to give anyone my two cents worth on the new fridge when it arrives.

    Cheers everyone.
