Don't forget the $2000 from Irish moss and countless movie tickets - I haven't paid for the movies for months .
This one was mostly luck - it was a draw. But the limited entry time period and fact that you had to be between 10 and 18 , have foxtel and shazam would have cut down on entries.
The trips I have won have all been short dated .i.e. Win and leave in a very short space of time. The promotions lady told me you would be surprised how many people cannot go and so have to pass. Also so many people tell me they wouldn't go that far for a week (or 4 nights in this case- I did extend it to 5 with the prize money).
Mainly I love 25 words or less. My nieces boyfriend asked how I won when I gave him some examples of entries he basically said "so cheesy rhymes and bad punny answers" Yes that's it. Know your audience the promotions people are typically mid 20s women so think what would stick in their minds.
I also just knew I was going to win - psychic or psycho not sure which. I'm a pretty positive thinker. I had already started planning my itinerary , checked the leave roster at work and told the lady when she rang I had been expecting her call.
And last of all persistence . I spend way too much time on the ozbargain competition page.
I'd be happy to do an AMA if you think it would help someone. I get just as much of a thrill when I see ozbargainers win big too!

My son won first prize in this competition so we are off to LA next week. Even though the prize was for one adult I was used the spending money to pay for my husband to come too. Thanks Spackbace for posting - my son thinks he is the luckiest thing in the world we are going to 6 flags and knotts berry farm, the Disney music awards and watching a TV show being filmed.
