What is the deal? the link shows $83/month for 24 months

    • $83 each month, phone is about 999RRP, so ARPPROX $1000 for 2 year unlimited call,7GB DATA, PER MONTH APPROX $41

      • Only if you really need that 7gb data for your contract.

7gb/month is in an awkward position in my opinion as it is not big enough to replace home internet (downloading one 1080p movie will simply eat up all the 7gb data you have in the entire month) and more than sufficient for the time when you are outside.

        • Some people can use just 7gb (like my brother, he uses 10gb) just on their phone alone. More and more people are using more on their phones alone.

Phone plans aren't meant to replace a fixed internet line, I understand for some 7gb is plenty for both their phone and computer use but for most it is not. I used to only use 200mbs each month on my phone but now I use 2gb.

When you can get unlimited internet for $69ish a month and you never have to worry about going over, I don't see why people prefer using there phone (I understand it might not be available but that's different)

Personally I am glad to see that the top plans ($80+) on all carriers that used to only get 2-3gb are now getting even more (6-7gb), its better to have more and not need it then to have not enough and need it.

  • Am i missing something? You've got 7GB in the title but 4GB mentioned in the details of the deal. Which one is it? Also please add $80/month to the title.

    Its an S3!

    • Yeah…..you got it…an S3….

  • Vodafone customer services are even worse compare to Optus.

Red support is fantastic, Aussies who know what you're talking about

  • Id rather go for the $95 plan on 9/4/15 with Telstra. You get 6gb, free calls weekends, free calls 6pm-6am, and $950 credit. You're also on the Telstra network. Depends if you want to pay a premium for Telstra, but the difference with the new data on 9/4/15 closes the gap a lot.

  • Is this better than the Optus plan? International roaming seems cheaper on Voda :O

  • Also comes with: 12 months free Spotify Premium access or smh.com.au access.

Will be tempting to payout my S5 plan with Vodafone and upgrade, been a few months already where I've had to buy data packs to get through the month even on 3Gb.

  • The 300 minutes international calls kills the deal for me. Maybe I'll stick to the RED $50 plan with unlimited international calling to 10 countries and get this phone outright..will still be a similar deal.

    • RED 50 x 25 months = $1250 (added one more month to compensate for 28 days recharge) - remember you also get discounted recharge vouchers occasionally
    • Samsung Galaxy S6 (Import) - ~$900 (Check Amazon deal)

I dont see what the special deal is. The same pricing in this post is available online to everyone and since this is a new phone there is no other deal to compare against.

  • Equivalent SIM-only plan: $60/month
    Effective cost of phone on this plan ($80+3/month) = (1992-1440) = $552

So yes, not a bad discount at all

Note that this is what you're actually paying for the handset on this particular plan (80+3/mth over 24mth). Comparing it to other carriers' plans will yield different results.

I believe this phone is overpriced and prices should fall back down to the $600-$800 mark very soon. Its not an iPhone so people will tend to pay less for a Samsung device no matter how premium it is. Same as how people spend more on an Audi than a VW even though technically the cars are very similar.

  • anyone able to get any further discounts from Vodafone for the s6 64g?
