Present for Someone Who Reads a Lot of Books?

I was thinking of getting the Kindle Paperwhite deal (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/188223) but just missed out. Are there any other suggestions on other deals going on or does anyone else have gift ideas?

Thanks.

Kindle Paperwhite a pretty cool e-reader, I've had one for a few months. I use it with a magnet cover which works well.

  • Buy them an Amazon Gift Card?

  • Have you verified that they don't already have a book-reader or tablet that they read books on?

I they don't, then the reader/tablet is a great idea.

If they do, then Scrimmers' suggestion of the Amazon giftcard is a winner methinks, i.e. so they can buy digital books with it (unless they're erm, known to be a bit naughty, and just download everything; in which case they can use it for sommat else).

  • Trip to XXXX Island.

  • What about a book?

    • Unless you have specifically enquired about what books are on their to-read list or you have a rough idea of what genre's they're into, it's probably a better idea to buy them a gift card of some sort, so they can pick their own.

      • This is true. I bought a book for my dad few years ago. It collected so much dust that I got the feeling that it stayed there for at least few years.

  • Definitely find out if they're interested in e-readers, and if so, if they already happily have one. If so, no real reason to buy another one unless they've been lusting after it in particular. You can purchase Amazon Gift Cards online and give them to people as gifts, but you need to know whether the recipient wants to buy from Amazon. They may be a diehard Kobo fan.

It's a hard one unless you know what they already like or are leaning towards.
