  • Not bad, the price is also good
So is it 1 box FREE for every 2 boxes ?
OR just 1 box, for any order > 2 boxes ?

Also, Can I claim through my private health fund?
So an itemized receipt provided ?

    • You will receive 2 lenses for every box ordered which works out to be 1 month supply for every 3 months ordered. You will be issued an itemized receipt with your order so you can claim through your health fund.

  • Have ordered through contact connection before.. very reliable and you can claim on your private health insurance too

    • Thank you for your support, we always try our best. Please let me know if there are any suggestions you think we could make it better.

  • Bought colored contacts from you before. Will you be selling more color contact lenses soon?

Our coloured contact lens special for Freshlook colorblends is still running until the end of December. You can still pick up 2 boxes for only $50 + $8 Delivery. Goto http://www.contactconnection.com.au/index.php?route=promo

      • How about prescription coloured lens? No special on those?
I'm interested in buying a few colours in the Freshlook Colorblends 2 range for my Euro trip. If I order today, will they be delivered before Wednesday next week?

        • At the moment we do not have any promos listed for prescription colorblends however I can do a special where if you order 4 pairs, I can give you another 4 pairs free of charge. I will need your prescription details and the colours you are interested in to see if we have them in stock, if so you will definitely receive them before wednesday next week. Please PM me if you are interested.

          • @AJones: I'm interested, but not sure how PM works on here.

  • Problem is…I wear Ciba Vision's Air Optix and Acuvue doesn't let me choose a Base Curve of 8.6 :( only 8.4 & 8.8 is present

    • you're optometrist probably recommended you wear air optix for a good reason, so perhaps you should stick to that brand. However, if you order 2 boxes of air optix http://www.contactconnection.com.au/index.php?route=item&id=… I'll also throw in 1 month of those free for you too. Just PM me your email address when you've ordered.

    So 2 boxes (12 pair) plus 4 lenses free (2 pair) = 8 pairs = $70.
    $8.75 per pair

Sure it's a good deal if you are silly and buy your contacts in Australia.
But if you get them from the USA website CoastalContact.com the EXACT same thing is only
    $4.92 AUD per pair.
That is nearly half the price of this posted deal, and that is their everyday price.
Free Shipping when you order over $100. Takes around 7 days to receive.

    -Workings out-
    $110.76 USD = $118.10 AUD
    24 Pairs
    $4.92 per pair

    • You are comparing apples with oranges Kelly666.

The fact of the matter is, if you buy your contacts overseas, you cannot claim through your private health cover unless the retailer has an Australian provider number.

Given that many people would have private health cover, it makes sense to buy from an Australian store. Perhaps if you didn't have private health cover, it may make sense to buy from the cheapest retailer overseas, i.e. US, Asia, Russia, Nigeria etc., but for comparative purposes we are NOT talking about the same thing (i.e. products are the same but retailers are different).

Back to the actual deal, this is only a reasonable deal as I recently paid $32 per box (with free delivery) from an AUSTRALIAN online optomotrist. So all up I paid $128 (with delivery). Unfortunately Contact Connection, your postage of $8 tips it out from being a good deal.

Many online retailers offer free delivery if the order is over $115. You may want to consider this.

      • Please note that all our deliveries are via Australia Post Express service which we only charge $8.00 for. If you purchased your 4 boxes from contact connection you would have paid a total of $132. For an extra $4 you would've received an extra 2 months supply of contact lenses Free.

    • How? I just went to their website, and the cheapest pricing avail for the same product is US$19.98 per box (3 pairs) when you get 8 boxes or more.
It works out to be US$6.66 per pair?

How much rebate does private health cover give for contacts lenses per year? I believe it's under $200.
Some contact lenses wearers would use that up pretty quickly.

All Australian online contact lenses retailers are a rip off compared to USA sites

    • This depends on which health fund you are with and your level of cover. Most health funds do pay about $200 per year for optical which includes both spectacles and contact lenses, you are entitled to this each year.

Our prices are lower then most online contact lens retailers in Australia and USA sites. Buying from an Australian online retailer has its advantages in that your contact lenses will be delivered faster and you can claim them on your private health fund.

Some US sites have free delivery but still charge "handling & insurance". Yes, we do charge for delivery, but $8 for an express service is reasonable. We also do not require any customers to purchase minimum amounts.

Hmmm, why was my comment deleted?
According to the OzBargain wiki, I have posted within the rules:
    http://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/help:voting_guidelines
"A negative vote would also be appropriate for cheaper prices elsewhere.
Please include a link or description of where it is cheaper"
And that is exactly what I did.
I was helping out the OzBargin'ers by showing you can get them for half of this price from CoastalContacts

    • Hello Kelly,

it was not deleted. But the comment received negative votes exceeding the number of positive votes, so it's hidden by default. You can tick "show all hidden comments", which appears just under the deal, so you can see your comment.

  • Again how did you work it out to be so cheap ?
It's $19.89 USD per Box (if you buy 8 boxes from CostalContacts ), that's roughly $22 AUD
compared to $31 AUD from this site

But considering people like me can Claim half of these costs from Private Health Fund, if I buy from Aus.
Some can even claim full amount, this is a great bargain

    • Maybe I did make a mistake but I cannot go back and check the workings out as my post was deleted for no reason. But I think your right.
Not many people I know can afford private health cover with extras ($1000+ a year) but if you do have it, yes I'm sure this is a great deal.
      Neg revoked.

    • Overseas is not a bad place to buy contacts now when the AUD is strong.

However, I see that with Coastal Contacts the price for Oasys is $25.89 USD per box ($28.90 AUD). It is $31.00 AUD at Contact Connection (the site on promo here). But if you order from Contact Connection, you get and extra month if you buy 3 months supply (2 boxes, right?). So the maths sound be:

      3 Months from Coastal Contacts = $28.90 x 2 = $57.80
      —- Equivalent to $57.80 / 3 = $19.27 per month

      3 + 1 = 4 Months from Contact Connection = $31.00 x 2 + 8 (delivery) = $70
      —- Equivalent to $70 / 4 = $17.50 per month
      —- Cheaper than US site

It is cheaper from Coastal Contacts when you but in bulk (8 boxes = $19.89 USD ~ $22 AUD as stated above). This is equivalent to $14.67 AUD a month.

Note that the last time I bought Oasys from my optometrist, I was charged $180 for 4 boxes
      —- Equivalent to $30 a month

So I guess Contact Connection is a great deal for anyone who doesn't want to buy in bulk, has private health insurance, who wants their contacts faster (express post) or just want to support Australian companies.

      Still a pretty good deal.

  • Definately good deal better than netoptical.com, which I always buy from. Just bought 4 boxes myself so waiting for my 8 free lense!

    • Thank you for your support.

  • AJones, any chance of a deal for Biomedics Torics? Have a heart for us poor souls with astigmatism :-)
