Best Android Tablet for around $100?

Hi all,

I might be asking a lot for my price range, but I'm looking for a 7" or 8" tablet I can buy from a BRICKS AND MORTAR store, around the $100 mark (slightly extra is okay).

I'm not looking for anything fancy, but I do require the best screen resolution I can get for the price, plus USB on the go capabilities.

All help appreciated!!
Cheers :)

  • Pendopad?

I'm not looking for anything fancy

You could get anything fancy for ~$100 at a b&m store.

      Haha, probably

Pretty much anything is fancy compared to my current Optus V9 ZTE tablet (yep, still got it!!)

    • However, doesn't Pendopad have terrible screen quality?

  • Go and do rounds at ALDI stores at their not sold electrical/pc items. There are normally in a glass locked cabinets. You may have to look through a number of stores.

ALso check out the clearence cabinets at Big W and even better the service counter at Coles where you may need to ask. Last clearence in local store thus not ozbargained was pendo with Avenger theme.

    • Cheers Kevan2, I have been taking a peek when I visit Aldi. Can't really 'do the rounds' too well without a car tho!! There was one that looked decent, but was 10"

I haven't yet tried Coles on a serious level, the Pendopads keep coming up, but I'm not that convinced with them…unless they are practically giving them away

Check target, they have couples of no-brand tablets around $80. Try to play with it in store if you are happy with it buy it.

  • Spend a little bit more and get the Nexus 7 (2013), it will save you headaches ($$$) later on. Plus, amazing screen.

If it's out of your price range, get the 2012 edition.

    • Thanks, but I won't buy one for the same reason I won't buy an iPad (which I would prefer)…

I want expandable memory for next to nix.

I see, I use a 64GB OTG USB flash drive in mine, so it's not much of an issue.

Ideally, expandable memory inside the device is better, but this is the next best option.

        • Ahhhh, okay I see…
          That could work :)

This seems to tick a few boxes…advice?

  • I have a Nexus 7 2012 Model for sale cheap too for under $100 if you're interested :)
