Last deal on these how-to-make-a-good-boy-look-bad trimmers was back in August last year.
The Philips 4000/4015 seem to have great amazon reviews but have been superseeded by 4022 which when compared are "all right". The models were approximately $40 without discount. Perhaps i should also be looking at a Wahl which will have a higher price tag.
Any recommendations and bargains appreciated.

It's a good watch. The guy is really really good at his trade imo.
I found this one to be great as well. He's got a site with recommended beard trimmers as well (Similar lists to everyone else)
It is not your cheapest option, but I have the older model equivalent of this trimmer (almost identical). It works well, both as a trimmer and for maintaining a two/three day growth.
I expected the vacuum-collection function to be a gimmick, but it works remarkably well. Worth the premium in my opinion.
I got a Wahl one from a special bin near the checkout at Harvey Norman for $7 about two years ago, does a great job.
