Recommend Me a New Colour Laser Printer

Hi All

My Docuprint C1110 has finally died - any suggestions for a good replacement that takes cheap toner replacements? Don't do much colour printing (mainly for my children's high school assignments).

Would love to go to a multifunction, particularly for the scanning and photocopying features (must have an adf), but concerned about the added cost - or does anyone know of one that would fit the bill without breaking the bank?

Thanks for any advice you can give me!

  • I always go lazer. Bear in for colour laser the initial toners are usually not 'full' so you may be up for a set of toners in the near future, which can be expensive. If you don't do much colour printing I would get 2 printers - A BW MFC for scanning, printing, etc, and a colour printer only for colour printing. You will probably find the BW printer quicker and cheaper to run for the bulk of your printing. Also consider for a few bucks extra you can go wireless, which would eliminate the requirement for cables to from your router or PC. Obviously this would depend on printer size, etc. You can put the printer in a low traffic area, away from your PC to keep it out of the way.

I just purchased an OKI c531dn, which was recommended to me for heavy duty paper, but I have found kyocera to be good as well.

  • I'd go for a HP Officejet Pro X576DW. It has a ADF, it can do fax (why I don't know), copy, scan, print.

    It isn't particularly cheap though…

Do you have a budget in mind?
