Flight to Tokyo from May 5th-6th

Hey all,

On short notice, I've been given an opportunity to both meet one of my bosses and travel to Tokyo at the same time.

I plan to leave on late May 5th or any time May 6th - returning on any time between May the 11th to May 15th - whatever is cheapest.

Doing a few searches I have found that my best result came out to be $1100 AUD after fees. Not sure, but is it possible to get any lower than this?

Thanks OzBargain :)

EDIT: I'm in Sydney!

You forgot to say what city you are in.
Assuming Sydney, cheapest flights will be via Philippines with Cebu Pacific.
For May 6, return May 12 I saw $760 including fees.

    Do you need baggage too?
Do you care how long it takes to get there? 2 days via Manila for $760 or 1 day for $939.

  • Hey xsacha,

Thanks for looking it up. I don't really need baggage - just carry on will do.

Perhaps, would it be possible to limit it to one stop only?

    Thanks for looking.

P.S. you were right about guessing that I'm in Sydney!

If you want to get a bit messy you can book each leg separately.

Departure leg can be booked via China (Taiwan) Airlines for 6th May (thru HelloWorld agent). It has a single stopover in Taiwan for $588. Includes baggage, food and entertainment.

The return leg on 12th May can be booked with Scoot. It has a single stop in Singapore and shows as $347. No free baggage, food or entertainment.

Total should be $935 for those two.

Best I could find was with Air Asia, $863 via Kuala Lumpur with 7 hour layovers. I'd go with the vietnam airlines option, it sounds like a decent deal although depends on the layovers you get.

Also $863 was flying out on the 7th of May, unfortunately a bit dear on the 6th by the looks of it.
